Brockville Psychiatric Hospital

The project involved the transferring of generator systems onto a medium voltage distribution loop. The system had to detect a loss of power from the utility, disconnect the utility then start the generators, step up the voltage and transfer it to the hospital. This was originally designed to be a line- up of medium voltage breakers only electronically interlocked to the transfer scheme. Also included was a transformer and protection to do the voltage step-up form the generators.

Our Solution

A MiniSub with one open and close switch, and one dual source switch, both with motor operators and auto controls. All the above was located in one package. This is a high security site, and the design on this MiniSub suited the project well.

Savings

This saved 30% of the cost an took 20% of the space. Minimal down time for maintenance was a big plus for this job.
